Shredded Paper
It turns out that paper shredders cut the paper into strips too small to survive through the sorting at a recycling facility. They might even clog the system by getting into the parts of the machinery and therefore, shredded paper is NOT recyclable. So, it would not be a bad idea to do something with all of this shredded paper instead of making hamster beds or compost. Here is a picture of someone (no name found for crediting) who used it for.... art(?)

Line of recycled plastic products for the home
Company provides full life cycle analysis as part of their products.
Preserve products are made from 100% recycled plastics and 100% post-consumer paper. By using recycled materials, we save energy, preserve natural resources and create an incentive for communities to recycle.
All of our plastic products are recyclable, either through our postage-paid labels and mailers (toothbrushes and razor handles) or at the curb in communities that recycle #5 plastic.
We make our products in the USA, so that we can ship them shorter distances, using less fuel and limiting our environmental footprint.

MIO - Green Design For Everyone
Make Some Green Upcycling Competition

Keeseh Studio invites students and design enthusiasts to celebrate the pursuit of ecodesign through an international competition to utilize waste material.A given manufacturing facility creates many copies of a product; therefore they create many copies of their waste material as well. Waste material can be used as raw material for other products or processes; this concept is known as upcycling.
The goal of the competition is to promote upcycling by encouraging the use of wasted materials to generate innovative designs and redefine the standards of environmental sustainability by fostering balance between conservation and development.
This competition will provide a stepping stone to help educate viewers of the vast opportunities and future development of environmentally friendly processes, materials, and products. All entries must be received digitally or by mail no later than October 1st.3 entries will win media coverage of their product or process and one will win a cash prize of $1000.

Handmade upcyling / recycling
Etsy :: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade
Website that sells some products that could be considered upcycled. To me the most successful use the maximum amount of waste material with minimum additiona of virgin material.
In this sense the messenger bag from seatbelt material collected from auto junk yards seems successful, not so sure about the
cheerio's notebook - if the pages were recycled paper, bound with hide glue I might be more for it.
I think the crayons made from ends is an interesting idea - a
nd the product could be just an instruction sheet distributed to pre-school programs or kindergarteners. It could have a lesson plan about wax, about heat, or melting etc.
Woven reclaimed bed sheets. Do thrift stores get sheets donated? can they resell them - eeww bugs. but could they be rewoven into rag rugs? could there be a tie in with reselling them in the thrift store to benefit a population? could the weaving be done by people with limited occupational skills?

Sorbilite : Fiber Process
Primarily a panel manufacturer - I thought their interpretation of the need to add value to the product, not just produce another panel good was spot on.
Waste Materials
The following waste streams can be processed with the Sorbilite Integrated Composite Forming System:
Even though value-added finished products achieve higher earnings then flat board, the earnings can be even greater when low start-up and low energy can be acquired. The Sorbilite Integrated Composite Forming System offers these advantages, plus the capability of producing products from zero cost raw materials in a simplified manufacturing process. The chart below compares value added products with commodity board.
